City of Dallas hosts milestone MLK Celebration Week

The City of Dallas kicked off the 40th annual MLK Celebration Week on Tuesday, Jan. 11. This week-long celebration includes virtual events to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“We pay homage to those who paved the way from Crossroads to the creation of the City of Dallas Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.  The Dallas community owes a great debt of gratitude to those who blazed the trail,” said Candace Wicks, Vice Chair, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center Advisory Board Member, District 3. “The 2022 MLK Celebration Theme: “40 Years Strong: A Look Toward the Future,” gives us a beautiful vision of hope for tomorrow.
