City of Dallas Animal Services Responds to Coyote Incident Near White Rock Creek Trail
City of Dallas Animal Services (DAS) received a report and has confirmed that two children were chased by a coyote near White Rock Creek Trail Thursday evening. It was reported the children sustained minor injuries. A parent chased off the coyote.
The incident occurred Thursday evening, April 24, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m. near White Rock Lake, in the area of White Rock Creek Trail, White Rock Rd., and Winsted Dr. A map of the area in question has been attached.
Coyote warning signs have been posted in the area by DAS since April 22, 2025, based on a single report of an encounter with a coyote. DAS is working closely with City of Dallas Park officials on locating the coyote(s) in question.
Brett Johnson, City of Dallas Park Department Conservation Manager and DAS, encourage visitors to be aware of their surroundings and be sure to keep dogs on leashes.
