On Thursday, April 2nd, between 10am to 12:30pm, jurisdictions in Texas will conduct statewide testing of emergency alerting and warning systems. This test is being conducted at the request of the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM).
Individual jurisdictions are testing a variety of emergency alert systems. This means that you may receive an alert on your phone, hear outdoor warning sirens, and/or receive multiple alerts.
These tests help ensure that emergency alerting capabilities are reliable and effective. Please DO NOT call 911 if you receive a test alert. Only call 911 for emergencies. This is only a test, no action is required.
