WIC Breastfeeding Appreciation and Latch On to be held Dec. 17

The Lake June Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Clinic will present two Breastfeeding Appreciation and Latch On events Dec. 17. The events will promote breast feeding awareness and educate pregnant and breastfeeding mothers about support services available through WIC and its community partners.

Both events will be held at the Dallas County WIC Clinic, 6925 Lake June Road. (English event at 10 a.m., Spanish event at 1 p.m.)

Attendees will learn the advantages of breast milk over formula for newborns; how new mothers can master the breastfeeding process; strategies for insuring availability of breast milk for their babies; information about local resources such as counseling, benefits, and local shopping options; and how to create a happy kitchen with WIC recipes and refreshments.

The event will also include door prizes, pictures with Santa, a Christmas Sweater Contest and educational information about support services available from Dallas County WIC.
