Web-based Open Records system launches

The City of Dallas Public Information Office has launched the first web-based system for submitting and tracking City of Dallas’ open records requests. The service will increase citizen access to public information while allowing the City the ability to meet and exceed all state Open Records compliance rules.

“After two years of development and refinement, we have been able to create a system that makes requesting open records as easy and simple as possible,” Open Records Project Manager Jeri Carter Lawson said. “Designed with the requester in mind, it will make requests more efficient than ever before.”

The GovQA service request tracking system will allow requesters to create their own profile for easy access to their requests in the future. Users will be able to check the status of their requests as well as receive the requested information. The requester can also communicate with the open records group.
