Statement from City Manager A.C. Gonzalez on incident involving MPT Tennell Atkins

Mayor Pro Tem Tennell Atkins emailed the following response today about an incident that recently took place at City Hall involving a City employee.

Unfortunately, there is no video recording of the alleged incident. The video cameras in City Hall are part of an 8 to 10 year- old system that we are replacing to enhance the overall security of the building. By mid-2015, we expect this surveillance system to be upgraded. In the interim, we have identified a solution for this site.

Because criminal charges are pending, it is inappropriate for any further comment at this time. However, I want employees at City Hall and our visitors to know that their security and safety is a priority to us. The Dallas Police Department is handling this case as it does any citizen report, with integrity and care.
