SKYWARN Severe Weather Education Class Comes to Southern Dallas County
Severe weather can strike at any moment, but knowing how to respond can make a life-saving difference. To ensure Southern Dallas County residents are prepared, the National Weather Service (NWS) is offering a SKYWARN Severe Weather Education class. Whether you’re a seasoned storm spotter or new to severe weather awareness, this class will give you the tools you need to stay safe and help others in your community.
This free class will provide valuable knowledge on how to identify and report severe weather phenomena, such as tornadoes, hailstorms, and thunderstorms. The course will also explain the importance of weather spotters in helping local authorities track dangerous weather events.

- Basics of severe weather (tornadoes, thunderstorms, hail, etc.)
- How to identify severe weather in your area
- How to safely report weather observations to the National Weather Service
