Celebrating Public Service Recognition Week

Celebrating Public Service Recognition Week

Every May, people all over come together to honor those who serve on the federal, state and local government level during Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW). This tradition started in 1985 and has grown to become one of the most anticipated events to recognize public servants.

The City of Dallas is embracing PSRW with a week-long celebration to praise our employees and their hard work. Some of the events include a kick-off celebration, an employee recognition ceremony and a social media campaign. The City will spotlight employees by sharing their story as proud public servants in a short video that will debut at a rally at Dallas City Hall. If you can’t make the rally, you can check it out here.

“It’s no secret that our most valuable asset is our employees. Their dedication and service help to create a better life for our residents,” said City Manager, T.C. Broadnax.

PSRW is a great way to connect residents to the work of their government. This opportunity informs everyone about the important work of public servants and how it impacts our everyday lives.
