Love Field Unit Officer’s dedication and innovative approach honored

Dallas Police Officer Christopher Crites has been named the Officer of the Quarter for his dedication and innovative approach to training in the different aspects of airport security. Crites joined the Dallas Police Department on May 18, 1992 and was assigned to the Love Field Unit in September of 2000.

“He has prepared numerous courses to keep the Love Field officers current in what they need to know to provide the security necessary in these changing times,” said Sgt. Michael J. Beattie who nominated Officer Crites for the recognition.

Well respected by his peers in the Love Field Unit, the other officers look to him for knowledge and direction when they encounter a new or difficult situation. Crites also has the uncanny ability to find and repurpose used equipment such as old storage lockers and discarded airline seats for training purposes.

“I consider myself privileged to have officer Chris Crites assigned to me at Love Field, because I know the officers at the airport are better trained and better prepared as a result of his diligence,” Sgt. Beattie said.
