4th of July City of Dallas Department and Facility Closures

Various City of Dallas facilities will be closed in observance of Independence Day on Friday, July 3, 2026. Below is a list of City services affected by modified schedules.

City Offices:

All City offices will be closed.

Dallas Water Utilities: 

The Dallas Water Utilities administrative and customer service offices will be closed Friday, July 3 for the Independence Day holiday. For emergency water service requests, customers should call 3-1-1. Non-emergency requests can be submitted online or on the Dallas 311 mobile app available for download on iOS and Android devices.

Sanitation Services:

The Sanitation administrative offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of Independence Day. However, all collections, including recycling, garbage, and brush/bulky item collection, will proceed as normally scheduled. The McCommas Bluff Landfill and transfer stations will remain open during regular hours for residential self-service disposal. Office of Arts and Culture:
The Office of Arts and Culture administrative offices, South Dallas Cultural Center will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of Independence Day and will resume normal operating hours Monday, July 6, 2026.

The Bath House Cultural Center, Latino Cultural Center, and the Oak Cliff Cultural Center will be open and operating following normal hours.

Dallas Animal Services:

Administrative offices will be closed. The shelter will be open for adoptions and host the annual Calming the Canines event from 9–11 p.m. on Saturday, July 4th. Bring a book to read, a soothing instrument, and a chair or blanket to help comfort our shelter pets through the fireworks. Animal Services Officers will respond normally to resident service requests through 3-1-1.
