Former Braniff Airways employees tour Love Field facilities

Members of the Braniff Preservation Group, tasked with preserving, protecting, and promoting and legacy of Braniff Airways recently toured the new Dallas Love Field terminal. Members also visited the former Braniff/Dalfort hangar, Braniff’s primary Operations and Maintenance Base until 1982.

A pioneer in the development of Love Field, Braniff was also a key partner in the planning of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in addition to its many innovative contributions to the airline industry.

The group is comprised of former employees and associates of Braniff Airways, which opened its headquarters in 1958 at Exchange Park, near Love Field. Braniff opened the “Terminal of the Future” at Love Field in December 1968, and operated the world’s first fully automated monorail system that took passengers from the remote parking lots at Love Field to the Braniff terminal.
