DNT Improvement Project to involve various closures starting Aug 12

If you drive along the Dallas North Tollway (DNT), you might want to pack some patience and plan for extra time in your rush hour drive. Beginning Sunday night, August 12, there will be various closures of the northbound DNT exit ramp to Northwest Highway and the DNT frontage road (Lomo Alto Drive). This is part of ongoing maintenance designed to improve existing pavement and pavement markings.

Below is a timeline of the closures as well as a map to illustrate them.

Sunday, August 12, through the morning of Friday, August 17 (Nightly)

The northbound Northwest Highway exit ramp will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, through the morning of Friday, Aug. 17, weather permitting.

Sunday, August 12 through mid-September (Continuous)

The DNT frontage road (Lomo Alto Drive) between Luther Lane and Berkshire Lane will be closed continuously, weather permitting.

Early September through late September (Continuous)

The DNT frontage road (Lomo Alto Drive) between Luther Lane and Northwest Highway, including the two right lanes at the intersection, will be closed continuously, weather permitting.

Lomo Alto Drive detour:

Motorists will turn right onto Luther Lane and then turn left onto Douglas Avenue. Motorists will then continue north to Northwest Highway

Possible alternate routes:

Via Lovers Lane: Motorists may take the Lovers Lane exit ramp and turn right onto Lovers Lane. Motorists will then make a left on Preston Road and continue north to Northwest Highway.

Via Walnut Hill Lane: Motorists may take the Walnut Hill Lane exit ramp and turn right onto Walnut Hill Lane. Motorists will then make a right onto Preston Road and continue South to Northwest Highway.
