Teen Court Appreciation Luncheon set for Saturday

The Dallas Teen Court Program’s first annual Appreciation Luncheon and Ceremony will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Dallas Municipal Courts Building, 2014 Main St. The Court helps local teens enhance their public speaking, analytical reasoning and team project skills while also increasing their knowledge of the legal system.

“Teen Court shows young people how they can excel and contribute to our community,” said Dallas Teen Court Coordinator Shanda Daniels. “Some of the teens volunteer to be a part of it and some are teens who may have made some mistakes and are taking advantage of a second chance.” Saturday’s event will follow a Teen Court session and will include a luncheon, guest speakers, appreciation awards and special gifts.

The Dallas Teen Court Program is held one Saturday a month from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Teens ages of 13 to 17 interested in the program should contact Shanda Daniels at (214) 670-4439 or email [email protected].
