Dallas Police Air unit to be relocated at Dallas Executive Airport.

The Dallas Police Air Unit based in the southeast part of Dallas Executive Airport will be relocated to the southwest side of the airport next to the control tower and the maintenance facility.

The project is scheduled to begin during the fall of 2016 and be completed by the second quarter of 2017 at an approximate cost of $5 million. The relocation will allow the airport to provide that land to the Commemorative Air Force for their construction projects.

The new police facility will have a hangar with capacity to house three helicopters including a mechanic and maintenance shops, parts racks and washroom. The adjacent building will house the police officers who operate the air unit and will have offices, work rooms, conference room, 2 pilot’s ready rooms, exercise room, restrooms and lockers for men and women, a kitchen, dining room and lounge as well as a parking lot with capacity for 21 vehicles.
