City to create new Office of Ethics and Compliance

City of Dallas Chief Financial Officer Jeanne Chipperfield will lead the City’s new Office of Ethics and Compliance. The new office will be a resource for departmental operations and will address recommendations from the City Auditor’s Office regarding compliance and internal controls, according to City Manager A.C. Gonzalez.

“In exploring how this Office could help the City’s operations, Ms. Chipperfield became more and more interested in serving as its leader,” Gonzalez said. “Her broad understanding of the City and current efforts at internal controls/contact compliance make her ideal for this new initiative; however her current role as Chief Financial Officer is critical to the ongoing process.

“We agreed that she would begin laying the foundation to establish the new Office of Ethics and Compliance and I would begin a national search for a new Chief Financial Officer,” he said. The City’s Human Resources Office will begin work to find a search firm to assist with the search.\

In the interim, Chipperfield will serve in a dual role; continuing as Chief Financial Officer while working out the mechanics of the restructuring.
