City Thanks Restaurant for Conserving Water

The City of Dallas is working with restaurants, hotel and motels to conserve Dallas water. Participating restaurants are encouraged to serve water on request only. As much as 1.5 to 3 gallons of water is saved by serving it by request only. And those savings will improve your restaurant’s bottom line. Conservation efforts of Dallas businesses and residents have saved 200 billion gallons of water over the last decade – enough to meet the indoor water needs of the entire United States for more than week.

What you need to know:

Participating restaurants are being asked to serve water by request only. This program is strictly voluntary and is not regulated by the City of Dallas.
Water upon request programs not only save water by eliminating unconsumed glasses of water but also save the water and energy required to clean those unused glasses. You will also increase staff efficiency with the elimination of the filling, delivering, clearing and washing those unwanted glasses of water.
The City is providing free printed table top cards or menu stickers to help educate your guests about the program. Participating restaurants aren’t required to use the materials, but we are happy to provide them if desired.
Participating restaurants are listed on the City’s Web site and will receive a certificate recognizing their participation which may be displayed in your restaurant if desired.
