City of Dallas appoints Tammy L. Palomino as City Attorney

Wednesday, the Dallas City Council voted to officially appoint Tammy L. Palomino as City Attorney.

“Over the past year, Tammy has demonstrated excellence and professionalism in what can often be a difficult environment serving as the interim city attorney. We look forward to her continued leadership,” said Tennell Atkins, Councilmember and Chair of the City’s Ad Hoc Committee on Administrative Affairs.

Tammy Palomino joined the Dallas City Attorney’s Office in 2003, as a community prosecutor, and two years later, joined the Municipal Regulatory Section where she became the chief of the section in 2014. Her practice included ordinance drafting, land use and zoning matters, drafting legal and advisory opinions, and advising city boards and commissions as well as city council on a variety of legal matters, including ethics.

In April 2020, Ms. Palomino was named First Assistant City Attorney, managing both divisions of the office. Ms. Palomino was appointed the Interim City Attorney effective March 1, 2023.
