City of Dallas to celebrate National Community Development Week

City of Dallas to celebrate National Community Development Week

The Office of Budget will participate in the 2019 national observance of National Community Development Week from April 22 to 26.
The week-long celebration brings together citizens, government officials, businesses, media, and non-profit organizations through events to showcase the impact of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership Grant (HOME) in the community. These grants allow the City of Dallas to improve the physical, economic and social conditions of Dallas’ diverse communities.
The CDBG program has provided grants to over 1,200 local governments to address the physical, economic and social needs in communities for more than 40 years. Every $1 of CDBG leverages more than $4 in other funding; bringing additional vital resources to communities.
The HOME program has provided grants to over 600 local participating jurisdictions to create safe, sanitary, and affordable housing in communities nationwide. Every $1 of HOME leverages more than $4 in other funding.
