City Celebrates the End of the Wright Amendment

Mayor Mike Rawlings joined Southwest Airlines President and CEO Gary C. Kelly Monday to celebrate the end of the Wright Amendment at Dallas Love Field. The Mayor also formally welcomed Virgin Airlines to Dallas.

Monday’s event is the culmination of discussions that began in 2006 about repealing the Amendment, passed by Congress in 1979 to regulate air traffic at Love Field. The City of Dallas has been planning for this day for some time. They’ve made renovations that promise to bring a more modern, more streamlined and more convenient Love Field.
