City to aid local organizations with cleanup effort throughout holiday weekend

The City of Dallas Office of Homeless Solutions and the Department of Code Compliance Services are partnering to aid Dallas’ unsheltered population throughout the holiday weekendTrash bins will be placed throughout the city from Friday, April 2 through Sunday, April 4 for items to be easily discarded.

Trash bins located near downtown

“We care about all our residents,” said Fabian Ramirez, Supervisor III Nuisance Abatement, Department of Code Compliance. “This initiative will not only help people who are helping others, but will also keep Dallas clean.

Although providing food to the unsheltered population is a charitable act, street feeding may lead to a higher level of debris in the roadways and potential traffic.

Trash bins are placed in the locations below:
– 1500 Martin Luther King Boulevard
– 1700 Cadiz Street
– 1502 Canton (Both Star Parking Lots)
– Coriscana Street and South Ervay Street
– Marilla Street and Canton Street
