A Life of Service and Sacrifice: Dallas Honors Dr. King at the 43rd Annual MLK Parade

The City of Dallas, in partnership with H.E.L.P. (Hope, Encourage, Love and Protect), is honored to announce that Martin Luther King III will be a special guest at the 2025 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade on Saturday, January 18, 2025. As a leading advocate for social justice and equality, his participation highlights the city’s commitment to continuing Dr. King’s legacy of unity, peace, and service to the community.

About the Parade

This year’s parade promises to be a memorable celebration with an exciting lineup of participants, including elected officials, high school bands, dance teams, car clubs, horses, local businesses, and community organizations. It’s a perfect opportunity to honor Dr. King’s life and teachings through a joyful and meaningful community event.

This vibrant event, celebrating Dr. King’s legacy of service, justice, and equality, is an annual tradition in Dallas and a moment for the community to come together.

Please note the alternate parade route for 2025: Due to ongoing construction on MLK Blvd/SM Wright, the parade will begin at the Fair Park Pennsylvania entrance. The parade will head westbound on Pennsylvania, then turn right onto Latimer Street heading north, before making another right onto MLK Blvd. From there, it will proceed eastbound, returning to Fair Park. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure the safety of all participants and staff.

Parade Kickoff and Entertainment

Arrive early to enjoy the MLK Parade Kickoff event from 8:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., which will take place in front of the King Center. This exciting pre-parade gathering will feature a compilation of live entertainment, setting the stage for the day’s festivities.
