After school programs available for DISD students 

The Dallas Park and Recreation Department offers After School Programs (ASP) at 35 Recreation Centers for children between 5 and 12 years of age. Transportation is provided at select sites and programs are operated in conjunction with the DISD school year calendar.  

Program Benefits 
By participating, children will be exposed to a wide variety of activities that will help broaden their interest and challenge them to learn and master new skills; thus increasing self-esteem. In addition, children enrolled in an afterschool programs often have better social skills and improved grades as well as live a healthier more active lifestyle.  

Activities 
In addition to a healthy snack and homework assistance, youth will experience a variety of daily activities including arts, sports, fitness, life skills, games. The programs are designed to offer effective academic enrichment, physical fitness, nutritional and life skill programs to challenge children and make learning fun.
