Among the stories featured on this week’s Your City:

• The Dallas Commission on Homelessness briefed the Housing Committee on establishing an ongoing homeless commission. The commission would advise the council on homeless issues, provide a forum for voicing homeless concerns and identify needed community programs and services. They also listed several recommendations to increase outreach.

• The Dallas Senior Games are back. Budget cuts caused the program to be discontinued in 2009. Participants must be at least 50 years old and will compete in 12 competitive sports and more than 32 different events including cycling, swimming, basketball, tennis, golf, track, pickle ball and more. Winning participants will have an opportunity to qualify to participate in the state competition in San Antonio and national competition in Birmingham.
