DPD to hold first recruiting event since July 7 police ambush

Dallas Police Department is holding their first recruitment event since the July 7 ambush on our officers. The City of Dallas community and supporters from all over the country and world came together, dropped off items at the memorial at DPD Headquarters and flooded DPD with questions on how to join the force.

In just the few days after the tragedy, Dallas Police Department had received hundreds of requests to send applications in to DPD. Now, recruiters are heading up to Tennessee to try to add to their ranks.

DPD will be conducting interviews in Memphis at the Hilton Memphis (939 Ridge Lake Blvd., Memphis, TN) from 8 am-7 pm on Sept. 20 and in Millington, TN at the NSA Mid-South (5700 Attu, Millington, TN) from 8 am-2 pm on Sept. 22.

The Dallas Police Department is currently recruiting 300 new police officers from throughout the United States. With over 3,500 sworn officers, DPD is the second largest police department in Texas and the ninth largest police department in the country.
