Dallas Fire-Rescue Deployed to Assist in Central Texas Flood Emergency
Dallas Fire-Rescue answered the call for help following the devastating floods in Central Texas. Teams of DFR members have been deployed to the area since July 4, 2025 to help with various assignments including water rescue, search and rescue, medical support, aerial rescue support, and backfill for 911 operations in the area.


UPDATE (7/14/25)
Search and recovery operations continue in Central Texas and several Dallas Fire-Rescue members remain in the area on various assignments.
Currently, Dallas Fire-Rescue has a total of seventeen members deployed to the area.
- Texas Task Force 1
- One member working as a helicopter/rescue swimmer
- One six-person water squad deployed to assist the state in preparation of a possible increase in rain
- Texas Task Force 2
- Three members assisting with logistics and planning
- Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS)
- Four members from the wildland/all-hazards team
- Emergency Medical Task Force (EMTF)
- Three members working medical support
During their time in the Hill Country, the teams have responded to a structure fire with Kerrville Fire Department, patrolled the Guadalupe River nightly as well as other support roles. We are proud to say our teams have been praised for their work ethic and positive presence.
UPDATE (7/9/25)
As of Wednesday, July 9, DFR water squad with five members remains near San Saba. The crew has made several rescues of people and animals. One DFR member is assisting in the coordination of Emergency Medical resources to support rescue efforts. As part of a strike team, four DFR members are supporting 911 service and other support duties to impacted communities in the area. One member, who is a rescue swimmer, has been deployed with Texas DPS to provide aerial rescue support.
Dallas Fire-Rescue is on standby should more resources be needed or requested.
