VIDEO: VP Joe Biden in Dallas: high speed rail is future of transportation

Vice President Joe Biden and Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings took to the stage on the rooftop of Southside on Lamar this week to talk about the importance of infrastructure. Biden took the opportunity to tout plans for the privately funded high speed rail that would run from Dallas to Houston in 90 minutes.

Biden said high speed rails are the solution to long term transportation issues and will lead the country into a new era. Infrastructure improvements will bring and keep business in the area, and the Vice President said high speed rail would also bring billions of dollars in economic benefits and more jobs to Texas. l

Biden said that in 10 years leaders around the world will be asking: why don’t we have that?

“I am just happy to be here, and I hope you invite me back when you break ground,” he said. “I may be looking for a job you know by that time, but I hope you invite me back because I plan on riding this sucker.”
