Among the stories featured on this week’s Your City:

  • A plan to close Tent City was developed by the City of Dallas and the Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance. The four-block homeless encampment is expected to be cleared out by early May, being mindful of the health and safety of the residents.

  • Operation Crackdown, a Texas National Guard counter-drug program returns to Dallas Aug. 1-15 and the public is being asked to help identify buildings for demolition. Operation Crackdown teams with cities across Texas to knock down drug trafficking locations.
  • The Office of the Attorney General of Texas has upheld the Dallas Zoo’s policy barring weapons on its grounds, rejecting a citizen complaint filed last fall. The Attorney General determined that the policy does not violate Texas law, ruling that the Dallas Zoo “meets all requirements to qualify as an amusement park,” which are legally allowed to prohibit weapons.
