13,000 jobs available for veterans at upcoming job fair

Texas veterans have the opportunity to connect with local employers at the seventh annual Red, White, and You! Job Fair sponsored by The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the City of Dallas and Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas.

This event will be hosted at Gilley’s Dallas (1135 S. Lamar St., Dallas, Texas) on November 8 where more than 150 employers representing over 13,000 jobs will be onsite between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to review applications.

This event is open to the public with a special emphasis on providing employment opportunities and information regarding services to veterans, their families, caregivers, and those in local faith communities working closely with veterans and looking to receive additional training for attending specifically to veterans’ needs.

In addition to the job fair, those who register at the link below will have the opportunity to attend a plenary breakfast at 8:30 a.m. with guest speakers from the Department of Veterans Affairs. Following the breakfast, the VA will be hosting a variety of breakout sessions between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to address issues veterans face including: suicide prevention and mental health, survivor benefits, veteran disability, E-benefits, and more.
