Update on Dallas North Tollway and Bush Turnpike improvements
Week of June 13
PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH TURNPIKE: DNT TO U.S. 75
Current Construction
– Final grading underway and clean up between Coit Road and DNT
– Asphalt placement between Coit & Renner Roads
Potential Traffic Impacts
– Single lane closures will occur sporadically to allow for trucks to enter and exit construction area
– Construction area is primarily in the median between the east- and westbound main lanes
DALLAS NORTH TOLLWAY: PGBT TO I-635
Current Construction
– Installation of lighting conduit ongoing near I-635
– Drainage and fence removal underway between Trinity Mills Road and Keller Springs Road
Potential Traffic Impacts
– No construction will be scheduled on the DNT main lanes or ramps between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. during the week, however, short-term exceptions may be made
– The speed limit, in this area, is now 60 MPH between the PGBT and Frankford Road and 55 MPH between Frankford and Belt Line Roads
DALLAS NORTH TOLLWAY: PGBT TO THE SAM RAYBURN TOLLWAY
Current Construction
– Continuing retaining wall work from PGBT to SRT
– Continuing construction of columns and caps for bridges from PGBT to SRT
– Bridge deck construction between Park Boulevard and Spring Creek Parkway
– Relocation of utility lines is ongoing
– Nightly June 14-23: Beams to be set for the expansion of the DNT/PGBT direct-connectors on the north side of the interchange
June 17-20:
– Beams to be set for the rebuilding of the northern portion of the Tennyson Parkway bridge
– The PGBT to northbound DNT direct-connector will be closed in order for crews to move concrete barriers to prepare for next phase of work
Potential Traffic Impacts
– Various lanes on Dallas Parkway (DNT frontage road)
– U-turn closures expected throughout construction
– Lane closures at the intersections at Tennyson Parkway and Dallas Parkway (DNT frontage road)
– No construction will be scheduled on the DNT main lanes or ramps between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m. during the week, however, short-term exceptions may be made
