Search underway for new police chief, community input needed

The search for a new chief for the Dallas Police Department is underway.

As part of the process, the firm leading the search is conducting a community survey to ensure the community is engaged in the process. The survey is in English and Spanish and seeks input from community members, business owners and stakeholders. The survey will gather input on a variety of topics including the public’s priorities for the next chief and the type of experience and qualifications they deem essential for the position.

The results are anonymous and will be used to guide the search process. Community members who are unable to provide feedback online may call (214) 671-5190 to leave verbal feedback.

The survey will close on December 1.
