Rebate program helps update older homes in Dallas

The Housing and Community Development Department has a new program that will help residents renovate and repair their homes. The program will reimburse 25 percent of residents’ out of pocket costs for the renovations.

The program, which offers rebates up to $5,000 per home for qualifying residents. Properties can be single family houses and duplexes built before 1985, and cannot be valued at more than $200,000 in 2016.
