Pride flag to be raised at City Hall

A Pride flag with the City of Dallas seal will be raised in place of the City of Dallas’s official flag for the remainder of June 2020 and every June thereafter to celebrate Pride Month.

This comes after the City Council approved a resolution making the change during the Special Called Council meeting on Wednesday, June 17.

At 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, Mayor Pro Tem Adam Medrano will read a proclamation declaring June as pride month on the City Hall Plaza.  Following the proclamation, he will unveil the Pride flag that will be raised at City Hall Plaza for the remainder of June.

Pride Month is celebrated nationally to honor those in the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City as well as highlight the accomplishments of those in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community.
