Operation WaterShare: neighbors helping neighbors
The City of Dallas’ Operation WaterShare helps families who are temporarily unable to pay their water bills. Since 1993, Operation WaterShare helped thousands of Dallas families with outstanding water bills. Funded by customer donations, the Office of Community Care administers the Dallas Water Utilities (DWU) program.
Donated money goes into a separate account. All of the money in the account is used to pay water bills for those experiencing a temporary financial crisis, based on eligibility and funds availability.
How Do I Donate? / How Do I Qualify?
All donations are welcome and are 100% tax-deductible. You can easily donate by mail with your utility payment or through your Dallas Water Utilities online account.

Additional Information
- Operation Water Share funds can be used for only Residential accounts.
- Operation Water Share funds cannot be used for Sprinkler Meter ONLY accounts.
- Operation Water Share funds CANNOT be used to pay for fees and deposits.
- Operation Water Share funds can only be used towards DWU accounts.
