Love Field to kick off centennial celebration with “Run on the Runway”

Dallas Love Field Airport will kick off its centennial celebration with a 5K “Run on the Runway” at 8 a.m. Saturday Oct. 29 at Dallas Executive Airport. Register online or at 7 a.m. the day of the event.

Participants will run through a World War II themed course filled with vintage planes, including the Mustang and the Superfortress, Helldriver, Liberator and Invader. The event will also include an air show featuring a reenactment of World War II battles using aircrafts and pyrotechnics.

“We encourage people to come out and experience an extraordinary marathon with great historical significance,” said Love Field Art and Program Coordinator Guy Bruggeman. “This entails running on an actual runway and taking a look at rarely seen vintage airplanes.”
