Illegal dumping of dog leads to arrest

Dallas Marshals made an arrest after finding a dead dog dumped in the 2500 block of Dowdy Ferry. It is a criminal offense to dump dead animals in Dallas. Evidence at the scene of this incident led detectives to the dog’s owner who admitted to dumping the dog because it passed away.

The dog was turned over to Dallas Animal Services to determine cause of death. On Wed. May 3, deputies went to the suspect’s workplace and served an arrest warrant for illegal dumping.

Dallas Marshals and the City of Dallas have been taking steps to address the illegal dumping issues with surveillance cameras and the City of Dallas saw a record number of illegal dumping related arrests last fiscal year. If you illegally dump in Dallas, you will go to jail.

Citizens are encouraged to continue reporting illegal dumping to 911 when in-progress or 311 for existing environmental offenses. You can read more about the City’s campaign against illegal dumping at http://realtrashtalk.com.

Citizens with deceased pets can request a “dead animal pickup” through Dallas 311.
