Holidays are busy time at Love Field

Departures from Love Field are a bit lighter than the usual holiday crowds, this year, according to Airport staff.

More than 17,000 passengers a day are expected at Love Field Thursday and Friday, the busiest departure days of this holiday season. However, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are expected to see only about 12,000 passengers each day, a little less than normal.

Busiest arrival days are after Christmas weekend with approximately 16,000 passengers expected on Dec. 26 and 27.

To minimize holiday stress, travelers are encouraged to use public transportation or get dropped off, and to arrive an hour and a half before departure to allow time to park, clear security and get to the gate.

No issues are expected with parking as the parking garages are not expected to fill up completely over the holiday.
