High speed internet expands to Southern Dallas

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings’ GrowSouth program is working with AT&T to expand its GigaPower internet service to Southern Dallas. AT&T says tens of thousands of Southern Dallas residents and small business can sign up for the service today. Residents south of the Trinity River and Highway 30 are a part of that group, and AT&T plans to double the availability in South Dallas within 12 months.

“Southern Dallas is not a charity case, it is an investment opportunity,” Mayor Rawlings says. “The demand for speed and connectivity is continuously increasing, and this reflects our commitment to support the ongoing public and private investment in the area.”

GrowSouth is a strategy to build a solid foundation for sustainable growth in South Dallas by strengthening and engaging neighborhoods, rebranding Southern Dallas and investing in the future of the area. Rawlings hopes that expanded internet service in the area will grow businesses and close the digital divide.
