Fair Park Fourth: Schedule and Information

The Fair Park and Community Services division of the Dallas Park and Recreation Department has solidified an official schedule for the Fourth of July celebration at Fair Park.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will offer patriotic performances, “dancing water” shows at the Esplanade Fountain, food trucks and concessions, and a spectacular fireworks show beginning approximately at 9:45 p.m.

Enjoy live music, water features and access to rides, games and concessions within the State Fair of Texas Midway, starting at noon on July fourth. Throughout the afternoon, music will be performed by the celebratory Razzmajazz Dixieland Band, and at 7 p.m. experience a tribute to The Beatles with music from A Hard Night’s Day, near the fireworks viewing area on the Midway.

Parking:
Admission to the Midway is $5, or complimentary to those who participate in the Dallas Park and Recreation’s “Dallas 7/4” race (7k/4k). For general public, parking will be $5 per car at Fair Park Gates 5,6,10 and 11.

Timeline:
6:00 a.m. – Fair Park gates open
7:00 a.m. – Dallas 7/4 7K/4K Race Registration Opens
7:40 a.m. – Race begins
9:00 a.m. – Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park opens and is open until 7:30 p.m. Admission drops to $4 after 4:00 p.m. – Meet MJ the blue-eyed loggerhead turtle! MORE
10:00 a.m. – Texas Discovery Gardens opens and is open until 7:00 p.m. Enjoy its “Red, White and Butterflies” celebration with $2 general admission, crafts and activities. MORE
10:00 a.m. – The Hall of State opens and will remain open until 5 p.m. MORE
11:00 a.m. – The Old Mill Inn restaurant and patio opens and will remain open until 10 p.m.
12 noon – State Fair of Texas Midway opens. Admission to the Midway will be $5 (free to those who participate in the Dallas 7/4 race). Ride, game and concession costs will vary. Approximately 30 exhilarating rides will be available!
2:00 p.m. – The African American Museum opens and will remain open until 7:00 p.m. MORE
4:00 p.m. – Dixie Land Band performs throughout the State Fair of Texas Midway
7:00 p.m. – Cotton Bowl Stadium Gate A opens (south side)
7:00 p.m. – A Hard Night’s Day, a Beatles tribute band, will perform on the Midway near the Top o’ Texas Tower.
7:00 p.m. – Dallas Wind Symphony performs on Court of Honor Stage in front of Hall of State
9:00 p.m. – WFAA-TV Channel 8 live broadcast begins from Cotton Bowl Stadium
9:45 p.m. – Fireworks
