District 4 Community Office opens for business

Beckley-Saner Community Center is the new Community Office for District 4. Community Offices were established by the City of Dallas to provide a convenient place for residents to contact their Council member and City Services without having to make the trek to Dallas City Hall.

Community offices are part of the “Service First” initiative City Manager T.C. Broadnax implemented in 2017.

He attended the opening, along with Chief of Staff Kim Tolbert, and Assistant City Manager Jon Fortune.  During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mr. Broadnax remarked on how difficult it was for some residents to make the journey to City Hall and emphasized why it was important for community members to take advantage of the community office, their connection to City Hall.

“I’m glad we finally have the District Office open down here and I’m looking forward to … you using the office,” said Mr. Broadnax. “That’s going to be important – because there was a struggle, – a lot of discussion about the need for one.”

Councilmember Carolyn King Arnold invited local Homeowner’s Associations and Neighborhood Associations to attend the opening and reminded them to take advantage of the resource in their backyards.

Community office hours are 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Thursdays, and 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Fridays. The office telephone number is 214-243-1527 and contact email is [email protected].
