Dealey Plaza streets to be closed this week for TV miniseries filming

Much of Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas will be closed to vehicle traffic Tuesday Oct. 6 through Thursday Oct. 8 to accommodate filming of the Warner Brothers Television miniseries “11/22/63.” Citizens in the area are advised that live blank gunfire will be heard periodically throughout the day on Thursday.

1_View from Edge of PlazaThe following streets will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 6 through Thursday Oct. 8:

  • 400 to 600 Block of Elm
  • 400 to 600 Block of Main
  • 100 Block of South Houston
  • 100 to 200 Block of North Houston

The following streets will be closed from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday:

  • 600 to 800 Elm Street westbound between Market and Lamar Streets
  • 600 to 800 Main Street eastbound and westbound between Market and Lamar Streets
  • 100 S. Austin Street at Main Street

During rush hour, Dallas Police will funnel traffic flow out of downtown up to Lamar Street, where vehicles can then head either north or south to get onto I-30 or I-35. Parking garages and open businesses entrances will not be blocked and pedestrian traffic will still be able to flow freely.
