Dallas earns perfect Municipal Equality Index score

The City of Dallas has once again earned a perfect score (100) on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s Municipal Equality Index (MEI). Cities are rated on 49 criteria covering citywide nondiscrimination protections, policies for municipal employees, City services, law enforcement, and the City’s leadership on LGBTQ+ equality.

Dallas received recognition for multiple efforts including:
Providing services to LGBTQ youth
Providing services to LGBTQ people experiencing homelessness
Provides services to LGBTQ older adults

The 2020 MEI is the ninth annual edition and rates a total of 506 cities from every state in the nation.
The recognition makes this the sixth consecutive year Dallas has received a score of 100.
