Dallas City Council: On the Agenda for December 2

The Dallas City Council will hear several key presentations on City bond ratings, pension and retirement funds, the FY2016-17 budget and proposal provisions for a rest break ordinance during the Dec. 2 Briefing Meeting.

CouncilDaySocialAmong the special presentations will be an overview of the City’s bond ratings, the rating agency criteria and any consideration given to existing pension liabilities. Dallas Police and Fire Pension System Executive Director, Kelly Gottschalk, and City Employees’ Retirement Fund Director, Cheryl Alston, will provide system and fund overviews with key financial data, current funding levels and actions to address.

City Staff will present provisions, and seek input and direction from the Council, for a proposed Rest Break Ordinance that ensures rest breaks for construction workers. In addition, the FY2015-17 City Budget Workshop process will commence with a preliminary fiscal outlook and Council policy direction and priorities for the coming year.
