City Council approves owner-occupied development proposals to build 225 single-family homes in Dallas

Under the leadership of Councilmember Scott Griggs, Housing Committee Chairman, a new owner occupied development program was adopted in January 2016. The Dallas City Council supported 13 proposals for approximately $7.4M at today’s meeting which will produce 225 single family homes in the Southern sector of Dallas. The homes will be available for households at mixed-income levels. Home prices will start at $110,000 and range to $185,000.

This large number of ownership opportunities supports the Mayor’s Grow South and Neighborhood Plus initiatives to attract middle income families and home buyers to Dallas. Private leverage from the banking community is estimated at $21.6M.

The 225 homes will be built in the following neighborhoods, Mill City, Joppa, Buckner Terrace, Ferguson Road, West Dallas, Jubilee Park, Oak Cliff and Kleberg.
