City Building Inspection employees honored by Texas building officials

Two City of Dallas Building Inspection employees have received awards from the Building Officials Association of Texas (BOAT) at the association’s annual conference in Sugar Land.

Frances EstesFrances Estes (left) was named Building Official of the Year for her 27 years of service to the construction community, the past two as Assistant Building Official. Her knowledge of codes and common sense management practices helped in development of the City’s unique “Q Team” plan review process; a quicker alternative to the traditional plan review process.

“Frances freely shares her wisdom and experiences with the next generation of code professionals and encourages personal and professional growth,” said City of Dallas Chief Building Official Phil Sikes. “She makes every effort to ensure that Dallas is leading the way for Building Inspection departments nationwide.”

“Lisa consistently provides such exceptional service to customers that most know her by name and seek her out when they have an issue, or just in the normal course of their business,” Sikes said.  “Her friendly demeanor sets people at ease and enhances the customer experience at Dallas Building Inspection.”
